Political experts:

Escalating verbal tension between Afghan and Pakistani officials has raised fears of conflict

9 Aug 2023 - 15:28

After verbal tensions between the authorities of the Islamic Emirate and the government of Pakistan regarding the increase in suicide and explosive attacks in Pakistan; Political experts say that the authorities of Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to international laws and international laws, should resolve their differences through dialogue and stop making tension-provoking statements against each other, because the increase in verbal tensions will lead to armed conflict between the two countries and the spread of activities. Terrorist groups exist on both sides of the border.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Asim Munir, the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army yesterday, in a meeting with ethnic elders in Peshawar, once again accused the citizens of Afghanistan of being involved in terrorist incidents in his country. He also said last week that Afghan citizens are involved in suicide attacks and explosions in Pakistan.

Before this, the Pakistani authorities considered Afghanistan as a threat to their country and said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban is present in Afghanistan and they are organizing their attacks against the Pakistani military from Afghanistan.

However, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, in response to Asim Munir's statements, said that the claims of the Pakistani authorities are baseless, Afghanistan's soil is not and will not be a threat to any country.

Also, Khaled Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Police Command, also wrote on his Twitter that last year, 18 Pakistani ISIS terrorists were killed in various operations in Afghanistan and on our soil, and dozens of others were captured alive.

He added that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not allow anyone to use Afghanistan's soil against another country, if there is any concern about this, it should be directly partnered with the Islamic Emirate.

At the same time, Noor Mohammad Amiri, a political affairs expert, told AVA that the authorities of Afghanistan and Pakistan should resolve their differences through dialogue in accordance with international laws and international laws and stop making tension-provoking statements against each other, because the increase in tensions Verbalization causes armed conflict between the two countries and the expansion of terrorist groups' activities on both sides of the border.

He added that Pakistani government officials should not talk about military action against the Islamic Emirate in their statements, because the biggest countries in the world have been defeated in Afghanistan, and there is no winner in that war. So the best option to resolve the dispute between the two countries is dialogue.

Amiri, stating that the cause of all instability and insecurity in Pakistan is political differences and bad economic situation, added that the current government in Afghanistan has no interest in Pakistan's war and insecurity, therefore, Pakistani authorities should not cause a break in relations between the two countries with their tension-provoking statements.

This political affairs expert stated that the claims of Pakistani politicians that Afghan citizens are involved in suicide and explosive attacks in this country are based on the politics of Western countries, because their interests are tied to the war in the region, especially Afghanistan.

At the same time, Qayom Sufizada, an expert in international relations, said in a conversation with AVA that the politicians and military of Pakistan want to divert public opinion to another side by accusing the Afghan government of the insecurity of their country due to the weakness of their country's management.

According to him, the main cause of instability and insecurity in Pakistan is the political differences between the leaders and the economic crisis in this country, not the citizens of Afghanistan who have no role in the suicide attacks and explosions in Pakistan.

He pointed out that if the government of Pakistan has any documents related to the involvement of the Afghan government in the instability of Pakistan, it should be shared with the Islamic Emirate and other international organizations.

He emphasized that without having the documents, Pakistani government officials should not accuse the Afghan government of being involved in the insecurity of their country.

It must be said that it faces serious challenges. Currently, a very alarming situation prevails in Pakistan, and no sign of fundamental changes in the country's economic outlook can be seen. It is not only the issue of foreign debts, but there is the issue of internal debt that has brought the country close to bankruptcy.
