Several contracts worth more than 100 million dollars were signed between the private sector of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: A bilateral business meeting was held in the capital of Kazakhstan with the presence of Nuruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade and Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
Yesterday, the trade delegation headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade arrived in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to participate in the "Afghanistan-Kazakhstan" trade meeting and to set up an exhibition of Afghan goods.
The country's business delegation includes the head of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, representatives of large private banks, DABS Energy Company, Afghan Telecom Telecommunication Company, Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Products, and Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment. In addition, representatives from agricultural, pharmaceutical, industrial, transportation and logistics, engineering and textile companies will attend this meeting.
Tomorrow (Friday, August 4) an exhibition of the country's products will be opened in "Astaneh". Food products, copper dishes, marble, carpets, jewelry and many other traditional products are going to be displayed in this exhibition.
Nuruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade, says that in this meeting, both countries have emphasized on the development of trade, attracting investment and transit.
Mr. Azizi called this meeting a good opportunity to increase private sector trade in the country.
Nuruddin Azizi said in this meeting: "I believe that the meeting is an important event in trade and international cooperation. "These meetings provide the right opportunity for companies to expand their business networks and create stronger business relationships."
At the same time, officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that efforts are being made to connect Afghanistan to China via Kazakhstan.
Mohammad Yunus Momand, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, believes that the establishment of a joint chamber of commerce between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan can be beneficial in improving business relations.
Mr. Momand said: "We wish that this business meeting and joint room between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan will reach a border so that we can play an active role in the economy of both countries."
Tawakal Ahmadyar, the General Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: "In addition to the private sector of Afghanistan, high-ranking members of the Islamic Emirate and our friendly country, Kazakhstan, are present in this big conference, and more than 350 prominent businessmen and investors of the country participate."
A number of businessmen also believe that for the growth of trade between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, it is necessary to facilitate contracts and remove banking restrictions.
