In a meeting with the President of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC), the Acting President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) said that, member states should work for the development, unity, and strengthening of the Red Crescent societies of countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, ARCS in a statement said that Mawlavi Mati-ul-Haq Khalis, Acting President of the Society met with the President of ICIC Ali Mahmoud Buhedma, and Dr. Mohamed Hamad Elasbali, ICIC Executive Director, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the President of ARCS provided advice on how the ICIC could become more effective in reaching out to humanitarian crises, besides discussing the current situation in Afghanistan.
He encouraged the ICIC and its member states to support developing Islamic countries and to work for the unity and strengthening of Islamic Red Crescent institutions.
ICIC President Ali Mahmoud Buhedma appreciated Mawlavi Mati-ul-Haq Khalis for the suggestions and expressed hope that ARCS as a member will play an active and productive role in the global organization.
He urged ARCS to share its challenges, needs, and programs in order to look for donors in Islamic nations to implement them.
