Ben Roberts Smith, an Australian veteran who has been found guilty of murdering four Afghan civilians by the civil court of that country, has filed an appeal against the court's verdict.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to the Guardian, Ben Roberts Smith is challenging the court's verdict on all four murders in his appeal.
Roberts Smith's appeal will be heard by the full panel of the Federal Court of Australia and, given the scope of the request, is likely to take months to complete, the report said.
Roberts Smith, 44, is Australia's most decorated living soldier, who was found responsible for the murder of four Afghan civilians during his mission between 2006 and 2012 by Australian civil court judge Anthony Besanko last month.
He has previously denied all accusations of "war crimes" in Afghanistan and said that he is "proud" of his actions in Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned that Australian soldiers are accused of killing 39 civilians during their mission in Afghanistan.
