Conflict in the women's prison in Honduras; 41 prisoners were killed

At least 41 inmates died following a conflict in a women's prison in the town of Tamara in the capital of Honduras.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): La Prensa newspaper has reported on Tuesday, June 20, that this conflict took place between "Mara" street gangs.
 
In this incident, 25 female prisoners were set on fire and 16 other women were killed with guns.
 
According to 8 AM, Honduran President Xiomara Castro said that the rebellion "was planned by the snakes with the knowledge and consent of the security authorities."
 
"I intend to take drastic measures," he added.
 
This riot has been called the worst tragedy in a women's detention center in Central America since 2017.
 
The Mara Salvatrucha gang is one of the most dangerous gangs that was created in 1980 by Salvadoran immigrants.
 
In the early 1980s, this gang moved widely to the United States and settled in California.
 
One of the distinguishing characteristics of the members of this gang is the body covered with tattoos.
