Following some unconfirmed reports on social media about the early re-issuance of electronic passports for Afghan immigrants in Tehran, the embassy has denied these reports in a conversation with AVA's reporter.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Unconfirmed rumors have been published on social media, citing an anonymous source in the Afghan Embassy in Tehran, which says that the order to issue an electronic passport from Kabul has been issued. This process will start in Tehran in the coming days.
But in response to this rumor, which quickly spread on social media, the Afghan Embassy in Tehran denied this news and called it a lie.
This embassy asked the immigrants not to follow these rumors, and to wait for the official announcement of this embassy in case of any new changes.
The Afghan Embassy in Tehran has warned against the distribution of fake passports among immigrants.
After the fall of the republican system in Afghanistan and the return to power of the Islamic Emirate, the process of issuing electronic passports in political and consular missions of Afghanistan abroad, including in the Islamic Republic of Iran, was stopped. Considering the need of Afghan immigrants in Iran for identity documents, especially passports and also electronic ID cards, especially students, this issue has always been one of their important demands from the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.
