Experts:

The Islamic Emirate should use the experience of neighboring countries to train the security forces

5 Jun 2023 - 9:02

Following the announcement of the readiness of the military authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran to train the border forces of the Islamic Emirate, military experts say; In the current situation, it is necessary for the military authorities of the Islamic Emirate to use the experience of other countries to train the security forces, because Afghanistan is more vulnerable to terrorism and drugs than other countries in the region due to its geographical location.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: These statements of military experts are made while Qasim Rezaei, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said that Iran is ready to teach "border protocols to the border forces of the Islamic Emirate".

In an interview with Iran's Mehr News Agency, Rezaei added that Tehran has announced its readiness, but the forces of the Islamic Emirate have not yet come to receive training.

This Iranian military official also criticized the different uniforms of the Islamic Emirate forces and said that "Afghan border guards must have specific uniforms and adhere to international laws."

Mr. Rezaei has also requested meetings, negotiations and even joint patrols of Afghan forces and Iranian border guards in order to prevent border tension between Iran and the Islamic Emirate.

He pointed out that since the Islamic Emirate came to power in Afghanistan, several meetings have been held with the officials of the Islamic Emirate in Tehran and Kabul to solve the border problems, but the problems still exist.

These words of Rezaei were expressed after the tension between the forces of the Islamic Emirate and the border guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran in "Kong" district of Nimroz province which happened last week.

Speaking to AVA, a military expert, Noorullah Ibrahimkhel, said that in the current situation, the military authorities of the Islamic Emirate need to use the experience of other countries to train the security forces, because Afghanistan, due to its geographical location, is more vulnerable to terrorism and drugs than other countries in the region. It is more acceptable.

He emphasized that in order to prevent the entry of terrorists, drug smugglers and border tensions with neighboring countries, Afghanistan needs professional security forces to basically control the country's borders while maintaining international laws.

Ebrahimkhel added: Four decades of war in the country has caused the security forces, like the civil forces, to be deprived of professional training, so the authorities of the Islamic Emirate should try to provide professional training for the security forces inside and outside the country.

He pointed out that the countries of the region, especially the neighbors of Afghanistan, should have continuous cooperation with the Islamic Emirate in the field of training security forces, because any kind of instability in Afghanistan causes instability in the countries of the region.

Meanwhile, Nematullah Alokozay, a political expert, also told AVA that the security forces of the Islamic Emirate do not need training from the point of view of field warfare, but they strongly need professional training in technical areas.

Stating that law enforcement requires trained military forces, he added that if the leaders of the Islamic Emirate want to be successful in governance and law enforcement, they should prioritize the training of security forces.

Alokozay called the training and equipping of the security forces of Afghanistan one of the important needs of the country and added that Afghans wish for their security forces to act professionally and be equipped with advanced weapons so that they can properly protect their land.

It should be mentioned that during the republic, military training of the Afghan army was considered one of the most expensive parts of the government, but after the fall of the republic, the army of three hundred and fifty thousand people disintegrated.

This is while the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate has said that ninety percent of the work on the formation of the army has been completed and so far about 30,000 members of the security forces have been stabilized.
