AVA - WFP Provides Six Agricultural Unions with Machineries

The provincial Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Directorate said in a statement that, the World Food Program (WFP) has provided six agricultural unions with agricultural machineries in Laghman.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, “The donated machineries include 4 tractors with trailers, 4 Zuranj light-type transport vehicle, 4 flour machines, 7 wheat harvesting machines and 5 small tractors for gardening,” the statement quoted Director of the provincial Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Directorate Mawlavi Mohammad Wali Muhsen as saying.

Meanwhile, the provincial Governor of Laghman Qari Zainul Abedin Abid, appreciated the World Food Program for the donation of agricultural machinery and assured that the provincial officials were always committed to strengthening the farmers and providing them with necessary agricultural facilities in the province, according to the statement.

For betterment and improvement of the people’s economic situations, lots of talks and proposals have been made with various institutions to attract their support to the province, the statement added.

This is to be noted that the farmers have earlier been provided with agricultural machineries, modified seeds and fodder for animals in the province, according to the statement.
