The Hamas movement welcomed the decision of the foreign ministers of the Arab countries to return Syria to its seat in the Arab League.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Hazem Qassem, the spokesman of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), welcomed Syria's return to the Arab League this morning (Monday, May 08, 2023).
Qassem said: "We hope that all the consequences of the Syrian crisis will be dealt with as soon as possible."
According to the report of the Palestinian base "Sama", the spokesperson of Hamas also called for the strengthening of mutual relations between all sections of the Ummah in order to strengthen its positions to counter Zionist expansionist plans.
On Sunday, the Council of the Arab League held an extraordinary meeting at the ministerial level under the chairmanship of Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and discussed the developments in Syria and the issue of this country's return to the Arab League.
A few hours later, the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad al-Sahaf, announced that the foreign ministers of the Arab countries reached a consensus in their meeting in Cairo today, regarding the return of Damascus to its place in the Arab League.
The statement of the Arab League regarding the cancellation of the suspension of Syria's membership states: The participation of Syrian delegations in the meetings of the Arab League Council will resume from today, and practical and comprehensive steps will be taken to move step by step towards the solution of the Syrian crisis according to the principle of step by step.
