The United Nations is hosting a meeting of special envoys from several countries on Afghanistan in Qatar Today to discuss key issues.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, “The meeting is intended to achieve a common understanding within the international community on how to engage with the Islamic Emirate on these issues,” the UN said in a statement issued on Sunday.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will facilitate the two-day gathering. It will focus on several other issues of mutual interest, including drug trafficking and human rights, particularly those of women and girls.

The Islamic Emirate returned to power in August 2021 and have restricted Afghan women and girls from participating in most public and daily life areas.

Women nationals have also been barred from working with the UN in a country where nearly 29 million people depend on humanitarian assistance.
