The Afghanistan national football team was grouped with the national teams of Iran and Kyrgyzstan in Group B of the 2023 Kafa Nations Cup tournament.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The first round of the Central Asia football competition in the adult age group under the name "2023 Kafa Nations Cup" was drawn.

The matches of the Afghanistan group will be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
 
Also in group A; Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Oman will battle together in Tashkent.
 
Due to the fact that the group stage matches will be held in round-robin form, the first team from each group will go directly to the finals and the second teams will also compete for the third place.
 
It should be noted that if Kenya is added, the national team will face this country on Friday 26th of Gemini.
 
This is the first CAFFA competition in the adult age group, which will be held in a different way and jointly hosted by the two countries. It should be noted that the national team of Oman is present as a guest in this tournament and it is none other than the Central Asian Federation.
