The publication of news about the heart attack of the President of Turkey has met with a sharp reaction from the government officials and the ruling party of this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The government and the ruling party of Turkey strongly condemned the publication of false news about the health of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in some foreign media on Thursday morning (April 27, 2023).
It was in the last hour of Wednesday evening that the Twitter account of the American branch of China's "CGTN" network claimed in a message that Erdogan suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized in a serious condition. In this tweet, written by quoting informed sources, it is claimed that Erdogan's family and relatives were also asked to go to the hospital.
The release of this news was accompanied by a sharp reaction from the Turkish authorities. Fawad Oktay, Erdogan's deputy, while condemning this news and its groundless republishing in the world media, said: "The health condition of our president is very good.”We are in constant contact with him, and he has a bit of a cold."
Omar Chelik, the spokesperson of the Justice and Development Party, also explained in a statement: "False and immoral news is being published in some foreign media about the health of our president. Our president is at work. After a little rest, he will continue his programs as usual.
Turkish Presidential Communications and Information Department also emphasized: "The claim that President Erdoğan suffered a heart attack and is hospitalized is not true."
Fakhreddin Altun, director of the Turkish Presidential Communications Department, said: "No matter how much they spread false information, they cannot change the fact that the Turkish nation stands by its leader and Erdogan and the Justice and Development Party in the May 14 elections.
Alton also posted pictures of the tweets of this false news and wrote: "We categorically reject such baseless claims against President Erdogan. Tomorrow, the president will participate in the opening of the nuclear power plant [Agh Qoyu] via video conference.
It was after this sharp reaction of the government and the ruling party of Turkey that CGTN channel edited the tweet about Erdogan's heart attack without publishing a new tweet to acknowledge the falsehood of the previous news and replaced the news of the presence of the Turkish president at the opening ceremony of the Akguyo nuclear power plant. .
However, insisting on its previous news, this network wrote in the same tweet that the previous news about "Erdogan's serious health emergency" has not been confirmed yet.
