Violence and protests in France regarding the pension reforms have been renewed.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The resurgence of popular protests in France comes as the country's president announced in a pre-recorded 12-minute televised speech that he has tasked the prime minister with the next 100 days. Take measures to achieve peace, unity and prosperity in France.
Within minutes of the French president's televised speech, protests broke out across the country, and French riot police intervened to quell the protesters.
A crowd chanting "Macron resign" marched in the Republic district of Paris and while lighting fires and breaking windows shouted: "Macron doesn't listen to us? We don't listen to him!"
According to local media reports, at least 11 people have been arrested in these protests.
Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd in different areas of Paris.
Nationwide protests in France have started since January 2023 following Macron's plan to increase the retirement age in this country.
French President Emmanuel Macron has acknowledged that the French have rejected his pension reforms, saying they are necessary to preserve the nation's wealth.
