Shahbaz Sharif: Reviving relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is a message of peace and hope for the region
Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, speaking at the Iftar banquet in Islamabad on Monday night with the presence of ambassadors of Islamic countries, referring to the recent meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia and the beginning of official relations between the two countries, said: Iranian and Saudi delegations have visited each other's capitals. This action is a message of peace and hope for the region.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed in recent days with the mediation of China to resume bilateral diplomatic relations after seven years.
Following this agreement, Iran's Foreign Minister Hussain Amir Abdullahian met and talked with Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan in Beijing.
Shahbaz Sharif emphasized that it is very important to advance this development and pursue its goals, and Pakistan sincerely welcomes the closer relations between Tehran and Riyadh.
He said: "Creating a bridge to resolve the differences between Iran and Saudi Arabia is a significant achievement and Pakistan observes this positive development with happiness and hope."
The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed regret over the escalation of violence against the Palestinian people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and added: "The aggression of the Israeli regime has increased in recent months and the occupying forces have crossed the red lines with complete disregard."
The ambassadors of various Islamic countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, participated in the ceremony on Monday night. On the sidelines of this program, Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Sayed Mohammad Ali Hussaini and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki had a short meeting.
