16 Apr 2023 - 14:39

Referring to the five-day presence of the country's ambassador in Sana'a, the Saudi Foreign Ministry described the talks with Yemeni Ansarullah officials as positive and constructive. The spokesperson of the Ansarullah movement also said: "We agreed that the current peaceful atmospheres including the ceasefire will be maintained and the communication between the two sides will remain strong."

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): On Saturday, April 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia detailed the meeting of the Saudi delegation with the officials of the Ansarullah Movement in Sana'a.

According to this statement, the Saudi delegation headed by Muhammad Al-Jaber, the country's ambassador to Yemen, was in Sana'a from April 8 to 13 to negotiate with Ansarullah.

According to ISNA, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Al-Jaber's visit to Sana'a was a continuation of Riyadh's initiatives in the past two years and the ceasefire announced by the United Nations last year.

The statement said: "The meetings in Sana'a included in-depth discussions on a number of issues related to the humanitarian situation, including the release of all prisoners of war, reaching a ceasefire and finding a comprehensive political solution in Yemen."

In the end, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: "These negotiations were transparent, positive and constructive." Due to the need for further negotiations, the calls will be resumed soon. Our goal is to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen that is accepted by all Yemeni parties."

This reaction of Riyadh comes after Muhammad Abd al-Salam, the spokesman of Yemen's Ansarullah Movement, stated: "We concluded this round of negotiations with the Saudi delegation with the presence of the Omani mediator in Sana'a, and the atmosphere of the negotiations was positive and serious."

Abdus Salam added: We agreed that the current peaceful atmospheres including the ceasefire will be maintained and communications will remain strong.

The International Committee of the Red Cross announced on Saturday; A flight carrying some Ansarullah prisoners has left Saudi Arabia for Yemen. During this day, the other side also released some Saudi prisoners. This is part of the process of releasing nearly 900 prisoners and prisoners, which will continue for several days.

On Wednesday, 318 prisoners were transferred by four flights between Aden and Sana'a so that they could spend Eid al-Fitr with their families.

On Saturday, minutes before 9 am local time, a flight departed from the city of Abha in the south of Saudi Arabia to Sana'a. According to the announcement of the Red Cross, 120 Yemeni prisoners were on board this flight. Yemeni captives spoke to reporters after arriving in Sana'a on the runway of the international airport and expressed their happiness for their freedom.

During that day, 16 Saudi citizens and three Sudanese citizens were to be transferred from Sana'a to Riyadh. Sudan was part of the Arab coalition supported by Riyadh, which entered the civil war in this country to confront Ansarullah and defend the resigned government of Yemen.

Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, has been under the control of Ansarullah since 2014. The resigned government of Yemen, which Riyadh recognizes, is based in the southern port of Aden.
