Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The representatives of the National People's Congress of China today (Friday, March 10) unanimously elected Xi Jinping as the president of the country for the third term.

 

In this way, Xi Jinping will be the president of China for another five-year term.

 

Xi Jinping was also re-elected chairman of the Central Military Commission, the second most important post in China's power hierarchy.

 

Voting took place at 11:00 a.m. local time, during which 2,952 votes were cast in favor of Xi Jinping, and there were no dissenting or abstention votes.

 

In this way, Xi Jinping is the first president in China to be elected for three terms. He was elected as the President of China for the first time in March 2013 and for the second time in March 2018.

 

In fact, the way was paved for Xi Jinping's third presidential term in 2018 when the country's constitution was amended and before that the maximum presidential term was two terms in China.

 

After the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China in October, Xi Jinping was elected as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for the third time.

 

Xi Jinping was born in 1953 in Beijing in the family of a prominent Chinese revolutionary and political leader. In 1974, he joined the Chinese Communist Youth League and later held several district-level party positions.

 

He was the governor of East Fujian Province from 1999 to 2002, in 2007 he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and in March 2008 he was elected as the Vice President of the People's Republic of China.

 

In November 2012, Xi Jinping was the chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Military Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and in March 2013, he assumed the position of head of state and chairman of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China.
