The heads of the Arab parliaments arrived in Damascus after 12 years and met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The office of the President of Syria, this evening (Sunday, February 26), announced that the heads of the Arab parliaments have met with the president of this country, Bashar al-Assad.
According to this announcement, the heads of the parliaments of Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Palestine, Libya, Egypt and the heads of the delegations of Oman and Lebanon have met with Bashar Assad.
Meanwhile, the official Syrian news agency (SANA) has reported today that a number of Arab parliament presidents who participated in the meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union yesterday, entered Damascus in order to emphasize their support for Syria and stand with this country.
This trip was done while the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohammad Al-Halbousi, asked the Arab countries to make their final decision for the return of Syria to the Arab countries.
The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, yesterday during the 34th meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union, said: "Arab countries at all parliamentary and government levels should take the final decision to return Syria to the group of Arab countries, and this country should play its role among the Arab countries in the region. And the world should play an effective role and make serious efforts for stability, reconstruction of infrastructure and the dignified return of the Syrian brothers who were displaced by the war from their land and country.
The visit of the presidents of the Arab parliaments to Syria takes place while some Arab countries cut off their relations with Syria after the protests in Syria and the civil war of this country.
