An explosion in a security checkpoint on Barak Golestan road in Quetta, Pakistan left 5 injured.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Today, Sunday, December 16, Pakistani media reported that an explosion occurred in a security checkpoint on Barak Golestan Road in Quetta.
At least five people were injured in an explosion near the Quetta Police Lines area, according to Pakistani relief officials.
Zeeshan Ahmad, an emergency worker, who leads the rescue operation at the site, said: The injured have been taken to Quetta Civil Hospital.
He said: Police and emergency teams have arrived at the site and the area has been cordoned off.
The Pakistani police has not issued any statement in this regard and the nature of the explosion is currently unknown.
The terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has taken responsibility for this attack by publishing a statement. The statement said that security officials were targeted in this explosion.
The blast comes days after a horrific suicide blast in Peshawar's Police Lines area killed nearly 80 people, mostly policemen.
