Completion of thousands of development projects by the United Nations in Afghanistan
In a meeting with the Acting Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the General Director of the United Nations Advisory Office announced that last year, the United Nations implemented seventy six thousand five hundred (76,500) projects in 26 provinces and 70 districts of Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Press Office of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has said today (Thursday, January 26, 2023) that Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, met with Nicolas, the General Director of the United Nations Advisory Office in Kabul.
In this meeting, Nicolas said that last year, the United Nations implemented 76,500 projects in 26 provinces and 70 districts of Afghanistan.
The General Director of the UN Advisory Office has added that the budget he has earmarked for these projects will be used instead.
He also discussed the problem of delay in women's work in domestic and international institutions and other problems with the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada assured that they cooperate with the United Nations according to the Islamic Emirate's strategy and that the strategy of each department is in accordance with the strategy of the Islamic Emirate's leadership.
Previously, Martin Griffiths, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said in a meeting with the Administrative Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate that they plan to provide 4.6 billion dollars to 28 million Afghans in 2023.
Griffiths said that this aid is the largest humanitarian activity of the United Nations in the world.
