Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Global reactions to the burning of the Holy Quran by a far-right politician in Sweden continue, and in this regard, a group held a demonstration in front of the Turkish House building in New York and marched towards the Swedish Consulate General.
This demonstration was organized by the International Union of Democrats (UID) with the support of some citizens of the Middle East countries as well as members of the Turkish community in New York.
Demonstrators marched in front of the Turkish House building towards the Consulate General of Sweden, chanted protest slogans and read press statements in Turkish and English.
Lunet Ali Yildiz, head of the United States International Union of Democrats, condemned this heinous act in a protest held with the slogan "No to hate, yes to peace and brotherhood" and said: "We are witnessing the spread of Islamophobia in different parts of the world." A racist politician, a dual citizen of Sweden and Denmark, set fire to the Holy Quran.
He added: This Swedish-Danish politician threatened Muslims and insulted their holy things. This heinous act is a blatant hate crime.
Demonstrators shouted slogans in front of the Consulate General of Sweden for some time and asked all authorities, especially the Swedish government, to show more sensitivity towards this heinous and Islamophobic crime.
At the same time, the spokesperson of the US State Department did not deny that the desecration of the Koran in Sweden was a provocative act to prevent the expansion of NATO.
