"Helping the poor" week in Herat; Distribution of aid to hundreds of needy families
While these days Herat is witnessing the coldest weather in the past few years, the Directorate of Refugees and the Cultural Committee of Shahid Karkhi Mosque distributed aid packages of winter clothes, fuel and food to hundreds of needy people in this province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Abdul Rahman Fahim, head of migration and returnee affairs of Herat province, says that at this stage, 800 packages of clothes, including shoes, jackets, undershirts, etc., were distributed to the needy in Shidai area of Karkh district, Herat.
Fuel, food and winter clothes were also distributed to 85 other needy families in this district.
These donations were collected by the people in the cultural committee of Shahid Karkhi Mosque during the week of "helping the poor".
Local officials in Herat say that these grants are aimed at addressing the problems of the poor and promoting a culture of responsibility towards the poor.
According to the officials, these aids will continue.
It is said that during the past week, the emergency committee of Herat province has provided considerable assistance and measures to the needy of this province. From distributing aid to collecting drug addicts and street children and rescuing them from certain death in the excruciating cold, which, according to experts, has been unprecedented in the past 50 years.
