Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, asked the United Nations Special Representative for Global Education to cooperate in facilitating education for the youth of Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, had a video conference with Mr. Gordon Brown, the former Prime Minister of England and the United Nations Special Representative for Global Education.
In this conversation, the importance of education was discussed and the reopening of schools and universities for girls was emphasized.
While thanking Mr. Gordon Brown for his efforts to improve the education situation in Afghanistan, the former president called for the continuation of the cooperation of the United Nations to facilitate the field of education for the youth of Afghanistan.
It should be remembered that not long ago, girls' universities were blocked by the Ministry of Higher Education due to Sharia issues.
