The Uzbek army was ranked among the most powerful armies in Central Asia

9 Jan 2023 - 15:32

The famous "Global Firepower" website, publishing a list for 2023, has named Uzbekistan as the country with the most powerful army in Central Asia. According to this website, Tajikistan has the weakest army among Central Asian countries.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the Asia plus news agency, among the countries of Central Asia, the armed forces of Tajikistan are known as the weakest armed forces. The relatively strong Uzbek army ranks 62nd, followed by the Kazakh army 63rd, Turkmenistan 82nd, and Kyrgyzstan in the 107th rank of the world's strongest armies.

The list of the world's most powerful militaries is based on 60 different criteria - including the size of the defense budget and the size of the army - to geographic location and natural resource reserves (excluding nuclear weapons).

According to this ranking, the lower the power index (PwrIndx), the stronger the country. So far, no one has reached the maximum military power index of 0.0000.

In total, the military capabilities of 145 world powers were assessed. The war in Ukraine affected the distribution of seats, but not as much as experts first thought.

In particular, Russia has retained the second place in the list of the strongest armies in the world, despite all the failures in "special military operations". In this ranking, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ranked among the 17 most powerful armies in the world.

As for Ukraine, it has significantly improved its position in the ranking. He was ranked 22nd last year and has now reached 15th.

In the first place is the United States Army and in the third place is China. The last places in this ranking belong to Moldova, Benin and Bhutan.

Compilers of the Global Firepower ranking provide detailed data on the military of the countries on the list, such as the number of tanks, aircraft, and warships.

In January 2021, Tajikistan was ranked 99th in this ranking, but this list included 138 countries in the world.

Asia plus wrote: This ranking and other estimates are only based on guesses as to how well they correspond to actual estimates. According to foreign media research, the Global Firepower ranking website, created by American blogger Daniel Pock, does not disclose the calculation method, is not endorsed by any scientist or military in any country in the world, and does not pretend to be academic. However, since 2013, it has continued to publish rankings and has received attention in research.
