Following some reports about the request of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to change the headship of the country's embassy in Tehran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while denying any new development in this matter, has said that there has been no change in the situation of the embassy of the "Islamic Republic of Afghanistan" in Tehran.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said today, Monday, January 9, in his weekly meeting with reporters regarding some reports and claims about the change of the headship of the Afghan embassy in Tehran: "No developments." This relationship has not happened so far, the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is active in the Islamic Republic of Iran and in Tehran as before, and in the same (past) framework, relations and relationships between this embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are established and no new developments have occurred in this relationship.

Of course, he pointed out that any changes in the diplomatic staff will be investigated in diplomatic frameworks and necessary action will be taken based on the state of relations between the two countries, but there has been no change in this regard in the current situation.

Earlier, following the publication of some conflicting reports about the situation of the Afghan embassy in Tehran, an informed source in this embassy, in a conversation with an AVA reporter, called the issue of appointing a new head of the Afghan embassy in Tehran simply Kabul's decision and said that the authorities The Islamic Republic of Iran has not made a decision on this matter so far; For this reason, this embassy with the current leadership and management is open to fellow immigrants and continues its normal activities as before.

On Tuesday, January 3, a media source announced the appointment of Fazl Mohammad Haqqani by the Islamic Emirate as the new head of this embassy, but the diplomats refused to hand over the embassy to him. This media claimed that this decision was made following the agreement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the new head of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul. Haqqani is in Tehran and is trying to take over the Afghan embassy. Iran's Fars news agency has also published another report based on hearsay that another diplomat from within the Afghan embassy has been introduced as the new head. Meanwhile, Fazl Mohammad Haqqani is the current first secretary of the Afghan Embassy in Tehran.

But an informed and reliable source inside the Afghan embassy in Tehran, in an interview with Ava reporter, confirmed that the issue of appointing a new head of the embassy is an issue that was raised in Kabul and a letter was sent to the Afghan embassy in Tehran. It has not been accepted by diplomats and employees of this embassy.

According to this source, this is a new issue that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate in Kabul directly informed the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tehran, therefore, the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran is not yet clear on this matter and a decision by this country regarding The delivery of the Afghan embassy has not been received.

This source has rejected and denied the alleged issue regarding the possible agreement between Hasan Kazemi Qomi, the new head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the special representative of the presidency of this country for Afghanistan, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.

Therefore, according to this source, the activities in the Afghan embassy in Tehran continue as usual with the current leadership and management.
