AVA - Resurgence of Terror in Pakistan, Revising Afghan Policy

Pakistan Teheek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry Amid the deteriorating security situation in the country, linked the resurgence of terrorism with the country’s wrong policy towards Afghanistan.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Pakistan’s former minister of information said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari lacks a comprehensive understanding of Afghanistan. He further added if the situation deteriorates in Kabul, it will have negative implications for Islamabad as well.

Mr. Chaudhry claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan was the “only respected Pakistani leader” in Afghanistan because his “hands were not tainted with the blood” of Afghans.

These remarks come as the insurgent groups in different parts of Pakistan have resumed terror attacks, primarily targeting army and police headquarters, resulting in the death and injury of scores of innocent civilians and security officials.

Over the past couple of weeks, a suicide bombing took place in the heart of Islamabad and another terror attack targeted security officials in Quetta Balochistan, leaving many deaths and injuries behind. The latest suicide bombing in Islamabad rang the alarm for the Pakistani government to strengthen security measures to ensure internal security and come up with a comprehensive policy to fight international terrorism.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s current regime drew massive criticism from the opposition groups and the general public for failing to tackle the issues the county is faced with.

Commenting on the idea of installing a technocrat setup and importing a technocrat from the US, the former information minister said, “a technocrat government could not solve the country’s current issues, as it would plunge the country into a host of problems and then these technocrats would flee.”
