The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees signed a memorandum worth 135 million dollars to help internally displaced persons and returnees.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees today (Friday, 2 Jedi) in order to help internally displaced people and returnees in the south of the country.
According to a statement published on the JICA website, the agency will provide up to 1 billion 797 million Japanese yen, equivalent to more than 135 million dollars, and this amount of money will be used to implement projects to improve the living environment in areas that host internally displaced persons and returnees. It will be paid.
It is expected that this project will be implemented in Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Nimroz and Zabul provinces within 24 months.
The statement said that many internally displaced persons and returnees in Afghanistan are facing poverty and are struggling with economic problems due to limited job opportunities.
