Experts: The Islamic Emirate should pay attention to the wishes of the people to represent Afghanistan in the United Nations
After the United Nations Credentialing Committee did not hand over Afghanistan's seat in this organization to the government of the Islamic Emirate, political experts say that the Islamic Emirate should pay attention to the basic demands of the people and the international community in order to get Afghanistan's seat in this organization.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The United Nations Credentials Committee did not hand over Afghanistan's seat in this organization to the Islamic Emirate government on Wednesday, December 14, without a vote. This committee agreed that after 9 months, a decision will be made about issuing a certificate to the Islamic Emirate.
Tariq Farhadi, an expert on political affairs, said in an interview with AVA: The Islamic Emirate must pay attention to the basic demands of the people and the international community in order to get Afghanistan's seat in the United Nations.
He added that the opening of girls' schools, respect for human rights, provision of women's rights and inclusive government are the basic demands of the international community and the people of Afghanistan, which have not been fulfilled by the government of the Islamic Emirate.
Farhadi stated that the Islamic Emirate has not shown any flexibility during their one-year rule, and added: The Islamic Emirate has not paid attention to any request of the United Nations or the people of Afghanistan since it took power.
This political informant believed that the authorities of the Islamic Emirate should reform their government and respect the rights of citizens and international laws in order to take Afghanistan's seat in the United Nations.
But Mohammad Naeem Wardak; One of the spokespersons of the Islamic Emirate in Qatar has told the media that the United Nations has taken an ill-considered decision regarding Afghanistan, because the Islamic Emirate has fulfilled all the demands of the United Nations and the people of Afghanistan in the governance sector.
He added that not handing over Afghanistan's seat in the United Nations to the Islamic Emirate will cause poverty and migration of our country's citizens, not Afghanistan's political system, hence the slogan of human rights by Westerners is a lie.
He added that Western countries cannot reach their destination in Afghanistan by force, they must understand the conditions of Afghanistan and then make a decision.
This is the second time that a decision on whether the Islamic Emirate can send an ambassador to the United Nations in New York has been postponed.
The Islamic Emirate took power in Afghanistan in the middle of August 2021. In the first months of their rule, Sohail Shahin introduced one of their spokespersons as the representative of Afghanistan in the United Nations, but this request was not accepted.
