Ukraine demanded the production of anti-aircraft and tank weapons/ Bucharest meeting; NATO seeks better support from Kyiv
Following the request of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine to produce various types of anti-aircraft weapons and tanks from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the members of this organization are looking for a way to show their full support to Kyiv today (Tuesday, November 29, 2022) at the Bucharest meeting.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmitri Kolba said in an interview with Politico on the eve of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting: "Without investing in the production of more military weapons, victory on the battlefield is not possible in the long term."
Kolba continued: At the same time as the current battle on the battlefield, we must also think about the future of war. Therefore, NATO countries should start producing more military weapons.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister warned: "Otherwise, we cannot win the war."
Kolba also emphasized: The last time I attended the meeting of NATO ministers, I only said three words; Weapons, weapons, weapons. This is still a vital issue. I state that we must set up production lines for all kinds of anti-aircraft weapons and tanks.
NATO foreign ministers will hold a two-day meeting in Bucharest, Romania, starting today, Tuesday (August 8), to discuss how to better support Ukraine.
According to the report of the official website of NATO, the meeting of the foreign ministers of the member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Bucharest will begin with the speech of Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of this organization.
On Monday night, Stoltenberg mentioned his conversation with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on his Twitter page and thanked him for hosting the summit.
The NATO Secretary General also added: We are committed to follow up the security situation in the Black Sea strategic region and provide more support to Ukraine.
Also, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who arrived in Bucharest, besides attending the general meeting, will have a bilateral conversation with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg.
The first agenda of the NATO foreign ministers' meeting today (Tuesday) will be to review the membership of Finland and Sweden in this organization.
NATO foreign ministers will also discuss how to better support Ukraine during the two-day meeting in Bucharest, Romania.
They are gathering while Ukraine has officially requested an increase in Western military aid to the country.
