AVA - Wheat Harvest Increased In Herat

This year more than 590 thousand metric tons of wheat have been harvested in Herat. local Agriculture officials of this province said.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The provincial head of agriculture of Department Herat, Bashir Ahmad Ahmadi says: Farmers have taken this amount of wheat from 180 thousand hectares of agricultural land, which shows an increase of 60%.

Most wheat is grown in the districts of Kashk-e-Kehne, Rabat Sangi, Goand lran; Kohsan and Shindand have been cultivated and produced, he said.

A large number of modified seeds have been made available to the farmers so that they can grow and produce quality wheat, he added.

Currently, 90% of farmers have access to modified seeds, and it is expected that next year, farmers will produce more products.
