20 Oct 2022 - 13:58

According to the announcement of the Canadian Immigration Ministry, 311 Afghan citizens have been transferred to this country from Pakistan on a special flight. With this transfer, about 22 thousand 581 citizens have been transferred to Canada; this is despite the fact that last year, this country pledged to accept 40,000 citizens cooperating with Canada and their family members.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said that these people were transferred to Canada on a special flight from Pakistan.

Mr. Fraser noted that he welcomed this number of Afghan citizens in Halifax.

It should be mentioned that 326 Afghan refugees were transferred from Tajikistan to Canada last week.

Canada's immigration minister has said that these asylum seekers include family members of Afghan translators and those who have supported Canada's mission in Afghanistan.

Last year, Canada announced that it would accept 40,000 Afghan immigrants.

Sean Fraser said that 22,581 Afghan citizens have been transferred to Canada so far.
