The Secretary of State of the United States announced the donation of 30,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to Afghanistan in a tweet.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced this in a tweet this morning (Thursday, September 22).
He wrote that despite its suffering in the face of Russia's brutal invasion, Ukraine has donated 30,000 tons of grain through the World Food Program to reduce the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and another 50,000 tons of grain for Ethiopia and Somalia.
Russia's attack on Ukraine has also led to an increase in food prices around the world.
These two countries are both major exporters of grains such as wheat, corn, and barley, which have been disrupted after the war.
