Transfer of Afghan Goods Has Increased

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) said that, the transfer of commodities between South Asian Nations and Central Asia via Afghanistan has increased.


Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, According to the MoF, the Islamic Emirate has earned a good income from transit between South Asia and Central Asia.  

“Our transit has increased. Afghanistan will slowly become a hub between South Asia and Central Asia because we provided all the necessary facilities which are needed,” said Ahmad Wali Haqmal, a spokesman for the MoF.  
“The surge in transit and trade play an important role in the national economy,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy.  

The MoF said that over 57,000 shipments have crossed Afghanistan territory in the last year.  
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) said that the war in Ukraine caused a surge in the transit via Afghanistan.  

“In general, not only coal but cotton is also being exported from Central Asia to Pakistan. Sugar, rice, oil and vegetable have been exported from Pakistan to Central Asia,” said. 

Based on numbers provided by the MoF, Afghanistan’s exports to the Central Asia and South Asian countries has reached 138 billon Afs, which is nearly a 70 billion Afs increase compared to the previous years.
