According to local sources in Faryab province, a road accident on the Andkhoy-Maimana highway killed one child and injured nine other people.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Monitoring,The accident occurred on Monday, 30th May, on the Andkhoy-Maimana highway, when the car’s driver fell asleep and deviated from the road.
According to sources, the deviating vehicle was a Prado type, and children were among those injured in the accident.
The number of traffic accidents resulting in passenger deaths has increased dramatically in recent months, and the reason for the increase has yet to be determined by the respective institution or through a thorough investigation.
A car accident in Jawzjan province earlier this month killed eight people and injured twenty-five others, while traffic incidents in Baghlan province killed three people and Badakhshan province killed four.
Drivers’ violations of traffic laws, deteriorating roads, speeding, and the lack of traffic signs are the leading causes of traffic accidents in Afghanistan, with people dying every day.
