Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) says 12 children have been killed in an airstrike conducted by the Afghan Air Force on a mosque in northern Takhar province.
The Independent Human Rights Commission (IHRC) said in a statement that according to their information, Afghan security forces had carried out an airstrike on a mosque in the Hazara Qeshlaq area of Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, on Wednesday night, as a number of Taliban militants were crossing the area.
According to the statement, 12 children were killed and 18 others, including the mosque’s cleric (Imam), were injured in the attack.
The Independent Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has expressed regret over the attack and called on the government to investigate the incident.
