The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 28 new cases of the coronavirus out of 343 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
So far, 105,765 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 6,023 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 81 recoveries from COVID-19.
The number of total cases is now 38,572, the total reported deaths is 1,420, and the total recoveries is 31,129.
The cases were reported in Herat (11), Kabul (4), Balkh (4), Kunduz (2) and Daikundi (7) provinces.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 903,967 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 27,880,879, according to Johns Hopkins University.
