Taliban kill six police in attack on checkpoints in Kunduz
At least six Afghan police were killed after Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints in northern Kunduz province last night, sources told 1TV on Monday.
Seven more police were wounded in the attack which targeted checkpoints in Pada Khab village of Imam Sahib district around 9:00 p.m.
The attack triggered a battle which lasted until 6:00 p.m. Taliban also suffered casualties in the clash, but it was not immediately clear in what number.
According to the sources, militants also launched an attack on security checkpoints in Do Band area of Chardara district of Kunduz during midnight, as a result of which two policemen were injured.
