A convoy of vehicles carrying Nuristan governor Hafiz Abdul Qayyum was attacked by unknown gunmen in Kabul’s Surobi district at around 7am on Sunday.

While Qayyum survived the attack, one of his bodyguards was killed and another, who was also his nephew, was injured.
