A convoy with Hafiz Abdul Qayyum, Nuristan's governor, was attacked by unknown gunmen in Kabul on Sunday morning and one of his bodyguards was killed and another was wounded, Abdul Qayyum confirmed.

The incident happened in the Mahipar area in the east of Kabul city around 7:00 am.
Qayyum said that his bodyguard waa killed in the attack and another one if his bodyguards--who was also his nephew-- was wounded.
He left Nuristan at 2:00 am to come to Kabul for official work.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
