Unknown gunmen shot a senior official of the Traffic Police Department in North-eastern Kapisa of province of Afghanistan earlier on Monday.
The officials in Kapisa Police Headquarters confirmed that the gunmen killed Sayed Muneer, the director of the Traffic Regulation Department of Kapisa earlier today.
The officials further added that Muneer was on his way to his office when the gunmen opened fire on him.
According to reports, the killing of Mr. Muneer erupted protests in Kapisa province where dozens of people took to the streets, demanding the arrest and trial of the perpetrators.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the assassination of Mr. Muneer.
