Eight people were killed when a car collided with a truck in Afghanistan's western Herat province last night, an official said Sunday.
The incident happened in Adraskan distric on highway between Herat and Kandahar, said Farhad Jelani, a spokesman for provincial governor.
It left also one child seriously injured, he said.
Those killed included three women, three children and two men. The victims were residents of Kapisa province, the official said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear, but officials often blame drivers' negligence.
