A 53-year-old man working as a health worker with Red Crescent has died due to coronavirus in Afghanistan's northern Balkh province, officials said Wednesday.
It brings up the total number of coronavirus deaths in Afghanistan to 15.
Ghawsuddin Anwari, head of Abu Ali Sina Balkhi hospital in Mazar-i-Sharif city said that the patient was under quarantine in the hospital for three days.
He said that the patient had no history of travel to Iran. His death was fourth recorded in Balkh from coronavirus. A total 12 people are under quarantine in the hospital.
Afghanistan has registered 423 cases of coronavirus so far.
