The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has received a written message from the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato), Jens Stoltenberg.

In the message, which was delivered through diplomatic channels, the Nato secretary general congratulated the Amir on Qatar’s efforts to reach an agreement to bring peace to Afghanistan.
He affirmed that during the past 15 years, Qatar has been an important and reliable partner of Nato, extending thanks to the Amir for his great personal support to strengthening the relations between the State of Qatar and NATO.
He said he is looking forward to progress in the joint dialogue and strengthening the partnership between Qatar and Nato, stressing that Nato and its partners in the Gulf region are facing the same security challenges that require more co-operation.
