Taliban insurgents shot and killed six members of one family after entering their house in Afghanistan's northern Faryab province on Saturday night, officials said.
The victims included three women, two men and one child, said Mohammad Karim Yorush, a spokesman for provincial police.
They were relatives of a tribal elder, identified as Mohammad Yunus, the official said.
Two others, including a 40-day-old baby and one woman, were wounded in the rampage, he said adding they were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Afghan army’s 209 Shaheen Corps also in a statement confirmed the attack and the casualties.
Taliban have yet to make comment on the incident
