Key Taliban members among casualties in Pakistan blast: sources

Afghan Taliban's shadow chief justice, Abdul Hakim, was injured and several other militants were killed a blast in Pakistan.s Quetta city on Friday, sources said.



At least 15 people were killed while 18 more were wounded in the bombing.
Sources said that the blast happened in a madrassa, where senior Taliban figures, drug smugglers and men working for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI were holding a meeting.
Taliban’s shadow chief justice Abdul Hakim was injured while senior figures of the group, including his brother were killed.
Those killed included Mohammad Halim, Ahmad Khan, Gul Agha Akhund and Amanullah, who were members of Taliban leadership council known as the Quetta Shura.
Other militants killed were Abdul Latif, Nazar Mohammad, who were collecting funds for the Taliban, and Abdul Manan, the group’s in-charge for Uruzgan, Ghor and Daikundi provinces.
The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, sources said that the blast happened due to internal discord.
Taliban spokesman Yosuf Ahmadi has denied there was any Taliban leader when the blast happened.
