The Delhi High Court has upheld a trial court’s order convicting an Afghan man and sentencing him to 13 years jail for carrying 52 kg heroin.

Justice C Hari Shankar held Afghani national – Sayed Ahmed -guilty under Clause (c) of Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for possessing a commercial quantity of diacetylmorphine (heroin) of drugs.
The court had on February 20, 2016, convicted Ahmed, and on February 23, 2016, sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment of 13 years, along with a fine of Rs 1,50,000.
