Security officials said that 23 Taliban fighters have been killed and injured in a series of airstrikes in Balkh province.

Air force carried out airstrikes on Taliban positions in Aaqtapa village of Chahar Bolak district, 209 Shaheen Corps in a statement said.
The statement noted that the security forces carried out the airstrikes at around 08:00 PM on Sunday.
Airstrikes killed 8 Taliban insurgents and wounded 15 others, the statement read.
Meanwhile, the statement added that civilians were not harmed in the incident but a member of the security forces sustained minor injuries.
