Clash breaks out between Afghan and Indian students at private university in Shimla

The university administration has reportedly expelled the students who were involved in the clashes.


Foreign and Indian students on Friday clashed at a private university in Shimla city in Himachal Pradesh. The atmosphere on the university campus remained tense for almost an hour. Two students were reportedly injured in the clashes. The reason behind the clash is said to be a dispute in the mess of the university.
A dispute and fight between two students had broken out on Thursday night. The students along with many other clashed when the other students came to know about it on Friday.
Not only this, the agitated students broke the vehicles that were parked on the campus. The university administration has reportedly expelled the students who were involved in the clashes.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, students are seen kicking, punching each other inside the university campus. This university has been in controversies many times in the past.
An investigation in the case is underway. Additional Superintendent of Police of Shimla Praveer Thakur said that the complaint of the university management had come after which the police team went to the university. A case under sections 147, 148, 323, 506 of the IPC has been registered.
