At least one person was killed when an explosion went off in Afghanistan's Jalalabad city, capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Thursday.

Twenty more were wounded in the blast which happened near Chaparhar Ada, said Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for provincial governor.
Those injured included one policewith the rest being civilians, he said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
