President Ashraf Ghani has appointed Abdul Qader Zazy Watandost as the new Chief Secretariat of the Lower House of Parliament – the Wolesi Jirga.

The Office of President Ghani made the announcement on Tuesday.
Mr. Zazy is originally from Kapisa province and has served as a member of parliament from the capital Kabul.
He is the successor of Khudai Nazar Nasrat who was accused of corruption and illegal appointments by lawmakers in 2017.
The Wolesi Jirga Secretariat consists of support staff who are in charge of all the administrative, financial, logistical, and security affairs of the Afghan parliament.
