The Afghan and coalition forces have destroyed more than 100,000 kilograms of opium during an operation which was conducted in western Farah province, the military sources said Sunday.
“Afghan National Army Special Forces in a joint operation with Coalition Forces conducted a large scale operation in Bakwah district, Farah province, in which more than 100,000 KGs of opium drugs were detected and destroyed,” the sources said.
The sources further added “Taliban terrorists were involved in preparing, supplying, securing, dealing and smuggling of the mentioned drugs.”
The anti-government armed elements including Taliban have not commented regarding the destruction of opium drugs so far.
